Rajeeyah Finnie-Myers is an Arts and Culture Professional dedicated to reviving socially engaged organizations and individuals to run at top form. A balance of rooted practicality and visionary action, Rajeeyah has designed, implemented and evaluated community arts programming and artist professional development across New York City at organizations like DreamYard Project, The Field and The Laundromat Project. Additionally she has facilitated workshops that explore best practices in the field locally, nationally and internationally.
Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Rajeeyah earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Florida A & M University. Later she received additional training and hands on experience as an Arts Administrator in New York City. At an early age Rajeeyah was drawn to the arts because of the sense of freedom that it offers. Recognizing the connection between well being and self expression, Rajeeyah has continued her personal commitment to performance, literary and visual arts in community settings. Over the years this commitment has translated into performance, exploration, and collaboration with a number of creative entities such as The American Theatre of Harlem, The African Folk Heritage Circle, The Movement Theatre Company, Betty’s Daughter Art Collaborative and Kotchegna West African Dance Company.
